You've followed the Rift's path for what feels like an eternity now but the player in front of you stops suddenly and you crash into them.
You were about to throw hands when you realise what made them stop. The Rift's path clearly ends here, so why is there so much more path in front?
It's definitely not the Rift's path but surely this can't be the venue, right?
You decide to step foot onto the new path and begin walking on it.
The path is unnaturally straight and disappears completely into the horizon.
You can't tell if you're even walking forwards or just stuck in the same spot. "Surely this can't be right..." you mutter out loud as you turn back.
The path looks just as endless as it did when you were walking forwards.
Nevertheless, you started going backwards, each step more tiring than the last.
You walk, and walk, and walk until you've been walking for nearly an hour.
You were certain it didn't talk this long to walk from the Rift's path to where you were when you turned around.
You desperately look around for other people, buildings, anything that wasn't this barren wasteland and this stupid path.
There's nothing.
Just you and this path.
You are lost on The Eternal Corridor and need to walk to one of its ends. To walk, send in separate messages in your confessional: "I step with my left foot." and "I step with my right foot." It doesn't matter what foot you start with as long as you keep alternating.
After every step you take, you must count your steps by sending "This is my Xth step." replacing Xth with whichever step you just took. This means your first few steps should look like:
I step with my left foot. This is my 1st step. I step with my right foot. This is my 2nd step. I step with my left foot. This is my 3rd step. I step with my right foot. This is my 4th step. With there being no longer than 1 minute between each message.
Incorrectly putting on a st/nd/rd/th ending and not sending the new corrected message in time will no longer give you a game over. Instead, it will give you a -25 step penalty onto your total step count. If you are able to correct yourself within 1 minute this penalty will not apply. Penalties can stack indefinitely.
You need to take breaks during your walk so you don't exhaust yourself to death. After every 50 steps you take, you must type the message "I take a break.". This break must last for at least 5 minutes. After 5 minutes you may start walking again. (This doesn't apply to finishing your walk.)
You must declare when you finish your walk. To do so, buzz the message "I finish my walk." (using the ?buzz command) and please ping me when you do so. After this message is sent, you may no longer take any steps and your final step count is recorded.
If you finish at 200 steps, here's what your last few messages would look like:
I step with my left foot. This is my 199th step. I step with my right foot. This is my 200th step. I take a break. I finish my walk.
You must not edit or delete any messages and you must not send any non-game messages after you've taken your first step or before you finish your walk unless you are in a break. If you make a mistake, you should resend the corrected message before you move on without deleting or editing the previous message.
Be in the top 80% of steps.
Any ties for the last clear spot will result in all players in the tie receiving a game clear.
Fail to alternate steps, incorrectly count steps, take longer than a minute to take steps, forget to take breaks, take breaks shorter than 5 minutes, fail to finish walk before time ends, be in bottom 20% of steps taken.
People who fail to alternate steps, incorrectly count steps, take longer than a minute to take steps, forget to take breaks, take breaks shorter than 5 minutes or fail to finish walk before time ends do not count towards the bottom 20%.
Walk enough steps to reach the end of the path. You do not know how many steps this will take, but if you reach it you will receive 4 additional echoes.
