Flavour Text

You do not remember entering the Thicket—only the silence that followed. No birds. No wind. Just the rustle of crimson leaves, thick like velvet and wet with sap that stains your skin.

The trees arch like twisted ribs above you. Their roots snake through the soil in tangled veins, pulsing faintly—alive. The forest breathes, and with every breath, it presses against your mind.

You are not alone. Shadows stir. Voices—too distant to belong to the people you see—mimic your words with a delay. Sometimes they repeat your thoughts before you've spoken them.

Something has changed you. A role has settled inside your bones, like the forest chose what mask you'll wear. You may be a beast. A healer. A seer. Or something else entirely. You know your truth—but can you convince anyone else?

The Thicket offers only two exits:

Be understood. Or vanish unseen.

One truth wins you freedom. Three lies earn you death. But if no one sees who you really are? You slip through untouched.

Welcome to Veins of the Thicket.

Rules

There are 30 unique roles bound to the Crimson Thicket—mysterious identities shaped by the forest's will. However, only a limited number of these roles (equal to the number of players) will be randomly assigned at the start of the game. The remaining roles are excluded and do not appear, but their names and descriptions remain known to all. This creates an atmosphere of uncertainty, bluffing, and layered deception.

Each player will receive one role privately in their DMs, along with a brief but evocative description of that identity. This role defines how they should act, speak, and behave during the game. Players are encouraged to adopt the personality, mindset, or habits of their role—but are not obligated to tell the truth about who they are.

Players must talk, lie, observe, and question each other to uncover hidden truths. Public interactions will take place in a shared game channel, but players are also allowed—and encouraged—to create private threads with others to scheme, share theories, or manipulate information. Every interaction is a potential clue—or a trap.

Before the game concludes, each player must submit a list privately to the riftwarden in their personal channel. This list must contain: The name of each player in the game and the role the player believes each of them was assigned.

Accuracy is everything. If a player is wrong about more than three roles, they receive a Game Over. However, if no one correctly identifies a player’s role, that player earns a Game Clear, regardless of their own guesses.

[GAME CLEAR]

No one correctly submits your role, or you submit the list with 3 or less mistakes.
