The bell tolls as another hour approaches.
You wander through the heart of a machine, the sound of endless ticking piercing your mind.
You've watched pathways open and close, running like clockwork. It's like it predicts where you move, guides you to where you need to go.
You can see a light in the distance. A way out. A path of success.
But, the walls close at the final stretch.
You look to your side, levers neatly lined across the hallway. They were pristine. They were untouched. They were new.
Above the levers is a simple clock, ticking by slowly. One minute at a time, it passes. The gears turned in your head, your own system at work.
Escape from this place requires a perfect mechanism.
To survive, you need to become a cog in a greater machine.
But, be warned. For just one misstep, one misplaced cog, will send the grand machine into disarray.
You must complete the clock, one minute at a time.
Each player is locked in a room with fifteen switches, labeled from 1 to 15.
To clear the game, you must finish with every switch in your possession flipped downward.
To flip a switch, simple buzz in your private channel "I flip Switch [#] down". Then, note the time of the response command. The minute hand is your hand, and it's important to remember this.
The game must end with at least one switch flipped at every possible minute across the hour. Otherwise, all players will be eliminated.
You may not flip two of your own switches during the same minute, regardless of the time apart (A switch flipped at 12:31 AM and another switch flipped at 5:31 PM would be invalid, due to sharing the same minute hand).
You are not allowed to undo a flip once it is made. Choose your flip times wisely.
For every player, including yourself, that flips a switch down at the same time as you, you will earn one "malfunction". So, if three people flip their switch at XX:02, they will each gain 3 malfunctions. This means that all players, in the best case scenario, will still gain 15 malfunctions.
Public discussion is allowed, but private discussion of any kind is not and will result in a GAME OVER if you do so.
To clear this game, you must meet three conditions: First, you must flip all of your switches, all at a different time, Secondly, have switches collectively be pulled at every minute from XX:00 to XX:59 (ignoring hours), Third, you must avoid earning the most malfunctions. Only those who are alligned with the mechanics of the machine will survive, and the top 40% of players with the most malfunctions will be eliminated.
In the event of any ties, the person with the largest group of people who flipped a switch at the same minute will be eliminated. This will go through all groups, from largest to smallest. If this is identical, all in the tie will be eliminated, instead.
Below is an example of the system in place for the "minutes".
Example:
[12:00] Player 1: "?buzz I flip Switch 3 down", Carlbot: "I flip Switch 3 down"
[14:00] Player 2: "?buzz I flip Switch 4 down" Carlbot: "I flip Switch 4 down"
As Player 1 and Player 2 both flipped a switch at the same minute, despite the hours being different, both gain two malfunctions.
For the purposes of this game, the time will be taking UTC+0 time into account. In the event of your timezone being UTC+5:30 or any variant that is not +:00, your time will need to be adjusted by those minutes.
Meet all three clear conditions.
Fail to meet all three conditions
Awarded 1 Echo on Game Clear
Awarded 2 Echoes for being the bottom 10% of Malfunctions
Awarded 2 Echoes for pulling a switch at the same time as the largest group to do so, and still surviving.
